Documentation & Support

Everything you need to get whatsipy running — from installation to your first automatic WhatsApp message.

1. Install the plugin

  1. Download the latest whatsipy.zip from the download page.
  2. In WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  3. Choose the .zip file, click Install Now, then Activate.
  4. A new whatsipy menu appears in your admin sidebar with Courier and WhatsApp submenus.

Requirements: WordPress 6.0+, WooCommerce 7.0+, PHP 7.4+.

2. Activate your license

Create an account (or log in) to get your license key from the customer dashboard. Then open whatsipy → Settings in WordPress, paste the key, and click Activate. The plugin verifies the key with the whatsipy cloud and unlocks fraud checks, courier bookings, and WhatsApp messaging according to your plan.

3. Connect couriers

Go to whatsipy → Courier Settings. For each courier you use (TCS, Leopards, PostEx, M&P, Daewoo, Trax…):

  1. Request API credentials from your courier account manager or merchant portal.
  2. Enter the API key and account ID, then click Test Connection.
  3. Set a default courier per shipping zone or city.
  4. Optionally enable auto-booking rules — e.g. automatically create a consignment when an order moves to Processing.

4. Connect the WhatsApp Business API

whatsipy uses Meta's official WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API) — not unofficial tools — so your number stays safe and delivery is reliable. One-time setup:

  1. Create (or use) a Meta Business account at business.facebook.com.
  2. In Meta for Developers, create an app and add the WhatsApp product to get your Phone Number ID and a permanent access token.
  3. Register the business phone number you want messages sent from (it must not be an active number on the regular WhatsApp app).
  4. In WordPress, open whatsipy → WhatsApp Settings and paste the Phone Number ID, Business Account ID, and access token, then click Verify.
  5. Open the Template Manager, customize the message templates for each order status (placeholders like {{customer_name}}, {{order_number}}, {{tracking_number}} are supported), and submit them for Meta approval.
Compliance note:transactional updates can be sent to the number provided at checkout, but marketing broadcasts require explicit customer opt-in. whatsipy tracks consent for you to keep your account within WhatsApp's commerce policy.

5. Enable automations

Every automation has its own toggle in whatsipy → WhatsApp Settings, so you enable only what you want:

  • Order status updates — processing, shipped, out for delivery, delivered, cancelled, refunded, returned.
  • COD confirmation — customers reply "Yes" to confirm; unconfirmed orders are flagged for review.
  • Abandoned cart reminder — nudge shoppers who started checkout but didn't finish.
  • Delivery day reminder — morning-of message when a parcel is out for delivery.
  • Review request — sent a few days after delivery.
  • Broadcasts — opt-in campaign messages to customer segments (Agency plan).

FAQs

Where do I find my license key?

Log in to your whatsipy customer dashboard — your key is shown on the overview page. Paste it into whatsipy → Settings → License in your WordPress admin.

My courier API keys aren't working — what should I check?

Confirm the keys are for your courier's production (not sandbox) environment, that your courier account is active, and that the account ID matches. The Courier Logs screen shows the exact error returned by the courier API.

Why do my WhatsApp template messages need Meta approval?

Meta requires all business-initiated message templates to be pre-approved. whatsipy ships with ready-made templates you can submit from the Template Manager; approval usually takes minutes to a few hours.

Can I turn off individual automations?

Yes. Every automation — status updates, COD confirmation, abandoned cart, delivery reminders, review requests — has its own on/off toggle in whatsipy → WhatsApp Settings.

What happens if I go over my plan's monthly limits?

Fraud checks and WhatsApp sends pause gracefully (orders still process normally) and you'll get a notification to upgrade. Nothing breaks on your store.

Is my customer data safe?

Order data sent to the whatsipy cloud is used only for fraud scoring, courier operations, and message dispatch for your own store. Data is never shared across accounts or sold.
